A beautiful galaxy in Canes Venatici, estimates place NGC 5005 in the neighborhood of 75 million light-years away.

Not often imaged because of its small size from our vantage, NGC 5005 is actually around 25% larger than our Milky Way galaxy. The image depicts a faint, but large, halo, but the number of stars in the galaxy is similar to the number of stars in our galaxy—around 400 billion.
