The Nautilus Nebula is an emission nebula approximately 5,600 light years away in the Cygnus constellation. It’s hollwed-out shape gives it the appearance of a mollusk shell.

 

It’s an active star-forming region. A recent study identified at least 138 young stellar objects less than a million years old.
