My First-Ever Astrophotography Image

For several years, I had watched Trevor Jones's Astrobackyard channel on YouTube. I knew I was approaching retirement (which actually occured on July 1, 2021) and I thought amateur astronomy might be a fun hobby to take up. So I followed Trevor's recommendation and started out by purchasing an Apertura AD12 Dobsonian reflector.

After a few weeks enjoying looking at the moon and planets through the eyepieces, I bought a little Celestron phone holder to attach to it. Above you see the first passable picture I was able to take with my iPhone through the Tele-Vue Ethos 21mm eyepiece. It's not great, but I was ecstatic with it at the time. Still unfamiliar with astronomy and telescopes, I took this in the early evening before sundown in my back yard.
