NGC 4725 is a ringed, barred spiral galaxy 41 million light years from Earth in the Coma Berenices constellation. It’s accompanied by the galaxy NGC 4747 in the upper left of the frame. The two galaxies have apparently interacted gravitationally, if not directly. NGC 4747 is about 350,000 light years from NGC 4725 and displays two tidal tails—one pointing toward NGC 4725 and another larger one pointing away.

NGC 4712 appears just to the west (right) of NGC 4725. While it looks much smaller than NGC 4725, looks can be deceiving. It’s much farther away at a distance of roughly 225 million light years.
