A Swath of Orion – Sixteen-Panel Mosaic

May 18, 2022

Only the second mosaic I ever attempted—and from my very light-polluted back yard. This is a swath of about a fourth of the Orion constellation and contains a number of notable objects.

Those include the Great Orion Nebula (Messier 42), De Mairan’s Nebula (Messier 43), the Horsehead Nebula (IC 434), the Flame Nebula (NGC 2024), and the Casper the Friendly Ghost Nebula (Messier 78), among many others.
