In the eastern reaches of the Cygnus constellation, the Flying Dragon Nebula, Sh2-114 & 113, lurks 3,850 light years distant.

There is very little literature on this area that I could find, which leaves details about its history, future, and nature largely a mystery (at least to me). While it seems to comprise mostly ionized hydrogen gas (red), it also contains blobs and filaments of ionized oxygen. Normally, this would be the bellwether of one or more ancient supernova remnants. But as best I can tell, there has yet to be any such finding.
