Because it is illuminated by a cooler red/yellow star, vdB 133 (upper right) has a strange mix of colors with a large component of teal or aqua rather than the blue that is typical of reflection nebulas.
vdB 133 is illuminated by the star 44 Cygni, a supergiant star in a binary star system. Its distance is estimated at 4,200 light years and is likely in front of the vdB 133 reflection nebula.
The reflection nebula in the lower left, apparently illuminated by 42 Cygni, is not catalogued as far as I can tell. Nevertheless, its presence is clear and obvious.
The entire area is blanketed by red hydrogen emission material.
